I have a very tall 5 year old boy who also has autism. We’ve bought 2 balance bikes but unfortunately he just wasn’t interested in them and he ended up being too tall for them. I searched for bigger balance bikes just to see as I didn’t think you would get such a thing and Kidvelo Bikes came up and yes they are expensive but if you weigh up the price of a balance bike then move onto a normal bike it works out just the same. This bike was great for our 7 year old granddaughter. We initially bought a 14 inch and she shared it with her twin sister. We quickly realised that they were gaining balance on these far more quickly than on their old bikes with stabilisers.
Looking at the size, we decided to get the larger bike for the second one. (They are small for their age, but seemed ready for the large size.)
Now they are both happily pedalling, and love riding their bikes.
We had a small problem with the back wheel on the smaller bike, when adding the pedals. This was quickly resolved by Nicole from Kidvelo.
